“We are super excited about participating in the Nolcha Shows Fashion Media Lounge this year and presenting the FW2017 collection. For the past 3 seasons we’ve shown as an accessory support brand to another designers, now is the time for us to step out of the shadows and into our own. We are grateful to Nolcha and all of its team for putting together this platform. As an independent designer we struggle to find a voice and venue to be seen during New York Fashion Week, Nolcha makes that possible.”

 

BACKGROUND

Our Senior Designer is a twice over graduate of the Fashion Institute of
Technology in New York, holding degrees in Apparel Design and Accessory Design, she also earned her B.A. from Washington State University. Having been in the fashion industry for over 10 years as a designer, she has worked for some of the top brands such as Helmut Lang, Juicy Couture and Coach. She has also worked as a Costume Designer in both TV and Film and is continually influenced by Art, Media and Music.

 

VISION

First and foremost we seek to solve problems for our customers. We affectionately call them design challenges and are at the heart of what we do. We believe in thoughtful, beautifully crafted handbags and accessories that delight and excite. We believe that form follows function.

 

SIGNATURE STYLE

We are a young brand and our style is evolving; for instance our muse for the previous collection was Solange Knowles. We feel she embodies the best aspects of our brand, strong, independent thinking, walking to the beat of your own drum and taking calculated risks. She likes color. So we served up things we thought she would love and want to rock. This season we are dark and moody. We’ve emerged from the shadows and sending forth Rogue Assassin, she is set to kill the FW2017 fashion game. You will see lots of black, darker pops of color, fur, hair calf, shearling, deconstruction combined with intricate stitch detailing and embellishments. We are becoming leather artists.

 

INFLUENCE

We look to the visionaries that have come before us and pioneered the accessories market and are inspired by what they have achieved. Brands such as Bonnie Cashin who had incredible style and introduced us to turn-lock hardware. Kate Spade who when she could not find a simple black nylon bag stumbled upon a void in the market and Rebecca Minkoff who’s Morning After bag spoke to a generation of women who liked to stay out all night and let the sunrise chase them home.

 

BRAND PHILOSOPHY

We are a luxury brand that makes it’s own rules. We have a strong personality with an even stronger opinion. We value strength, fearlessness and choice. Our roots are embedded in hip-hop, sass and street culture.

 

DREAM CELEBRITY AND CLIENT

At this moment we would have to say Rhianna, she is has become an icon and keeps pushing the envelope forward, always going to the next level. She’s has a great style and a great stylist, mixes high and low and is an overall glam vixen; she is a Dillinger to the core.
