New York School of Design (NYSD) was founded in 2005 as a fashion focused and industry-led design school. Located in the world-renowned New York Garment District, NYSD provides a training ground that is unique and inspirational. Throughout the years, NYSD has maintained its position as the place for intensive, hands-on training, and offers accelerated programs in fashion design to students of diverse backgrounds and nationalities. The programs encompass the necessary and relevant curricula to take our students to the next level in their career and beyond. Working in cooperation with the fashion industry, NYSD graduates are employed by international fashion icons such as Ralph Lauren, Vivienne Tam, Coach, etc. All of the programs focus on career training and prepare students to land their first job in the fashion world.
Joseph Giampietro, Director, NY School of Design comments; “New York School of Design is honored to be a part of the Nolcha Shows. NYSD offers a 6 month Fashion Design education and we are incredibly proud of how far our students have come in a short time. Our four students have dedicated their time and energy into making their visions a reality. We are excited to see their designs walk the runway and to see what they accomplish as they start their careers.”
The chosen students will showcase curated looks from their collections House of Nwocha (Ugonna Omeruo), Kendra Ookami (Micgelle Gonzalez), Larglinda Llazi and Nokomis (Sentell Mcdonal) alongside independent designers MINAN WONG, Jody Bell and Olivia B during the Nolcha Shows Ones to Watch collective show.
Kerry Bannigan, Co-Founder, Nolcha Shows comments; “We are thrilled to be aligned with NY School of Design and to work on a curated showcase of their current talent. Nolcha is a platform to launch and support independent fashion designers and we are very proud to do this at this early stage of these designers careers.”
