This week we’re highlighting independent fashion designer TRADE By Gina La Morte. The brand was formed upon the values of supporting non-profit missions of setting women and children free from anything that enslaves them; including human trafficking, abuse, and violence. In the creation of all of TRADE By Gina La Morte products, all of the labor is fair trade, made in NYC, supporting single mothers, abused and trafficked victims and true industry artisans that handcraft the products locally.
All of the designers’ materials are as sustainable and local whenever possible. They use the finest Italian leathers, all of which are semi-vegetable dyed. They are very special, aged and distressed skins which are the highest quality available. The brand does their best to keep their collections as pure to the vision of sourcing local and doing business with other ethical businesses that will support and employ women who have come out of life-threatening circumstances.
This stunning gold metal butterfly bag was handmade for the brands runway collection at New York Fashion Week and is one of a kind. This bag was made by hand hammering brass by a metalsmith in Brooklyn. The bag can be worn as a clutch or with a shoulder strap (comes with the bag). This bag features the signature Freedom lining. This was the finale look for the TRADE By Gina La Morte runway collection and has been featured in over 100 media outlets.
