Made in New York City fashion label, ACID NYC, proudly stands with Fashion Revolution Week to show their consumers #imadeyourclothes and welcomes media to come to the factory to learn more about the production and team.
This year, Fashion Revolution’s annual campaign (18th April – 24th April 2016) invites companies to show responsibility for the individuals and communities on which their business depends, by showing consumers the faces and stories of thousands of farmers, makers and producers who make our clothes, answering with the hashtag #imadeyourclothes.
ACID NYC is led by husband and wife design duo Evelyn Luna and Scott Chester. For 13 years Evelyn was a key member of Diane Von Furstenberg’s original design staff that re-launched the DVF brand and its myriad of successful designs. She subsequently became Director of DVF’s textile dept. In 2003, she ventured on to become Textile Product Manager at Victoria’s Secret lingerie. Before long Evelyn began consulting independently for DVF, VS Swimwear and other designers in the fashion and home furnishing industry. Today Evelyn runs Acid NYC; the Made in NYC fashion brand offers modern silhouettes with vibrantly designed museum quality prints.
The brand sources materials in NY, LA, Korea, and India; and produces the collection at family run Manhattan based factory Lily Fashion Inc. Brother and sister, Sara and Dave Choe, head up the factory accompanied by their talented team of assistants, pattern makers, cutters and sewers.
Evelyn shares: “We have a long history with NYC. Both Scott and I were born and raised, went to school, met and re-met, worked and had our businesses in NYC. We have acquired a wealth of experience in this city and felt that the brand represents the cosmopolitan as well as the international aspect of NYC. We also have a lot of great business relationships in NYC, so it made sense to develop our business here.”
