The Nolcha Shows New York Fashion Week debuts at new location at 608 Fifth Avenue
New York, New York – August 31, 2021 Nolcha Shows NYFW, the award-winning fashion event held during New York Fashion Week for independent fashion brands, collaborates with the Fifth Avenue Association to debut this season of NYFW on Fifth. The highrise turned runway (between East 48th and 49th Street and across from Saks Fifth Avenue) is of prime elegance and sophistication.
This season will feature the “Ones to Watch”, showcasing independent fashion brands that epitomize elegance, freedom, and individuality. They are a reflection of the contemporary world: re-imagining fashion for the modern wearer.
Now in its 14th year, The Nolcha Shows is a known platform for discovery: a vessel for highlighting current and emerging global design talent during New York Fashion Week.
Among the audience of the fashion industry consisting of press, buyers and influencers, will also be a deserving group of people: military spouses receiving a VIP experience. In collaboration with the brand InstaSleep mint melts, Nolcha will honor the sacrifices that military spouses have made for this country. The VIP experience will start with hair and make-up, followed by a glam session by AOFM, and will conclude with front row seats, backstage access, and catered dining by Chef Tova.
Nolcha Shows NYFW Presents the Following Fashion Brands:
KavenLiu DIMOR
DIMOR designs seek to evoke a sense of belonging and freedom for women, while weaving structure and architecture into its feminine elements. This collection in particular places an emphasis on the female form and waistline, ensuring a flattering silhouette complemented by comfortable materials such as silk, hemp, and cotton. The juxtaposition between KavenLiu DIMOR’s femininity and structured, angular elements make for a compelling yet wearable collection.
Koreano
KOREANO is reimagining the modern woman’s wardrobe by creating one outfit for any occasion. The brand expresses a commitment to utter self-expression and independence through a curated uniqueness of femininity and strength.
Klova
Masters of minimalism reside at Klova; the destination for illustrating the beauty and charm of women in Chinese culture. Woven together with lightness and naturalism, this collection seeks to encourage comfort and peace. The uniqueness at Klova is in the details. The carefully created collection came about through airy, light color and neutrals, and an “elegant voluptuousness” that can seldom be duplicated.
the 5th Season
The 5th Season unconventionally found inspiration for their collection from that of a bird, an animal that represents much of what the brand seeks to convey; “freedom, elegance, and rebirth”. The homage to the bird will be seen through the colors, textures, and silhouettes of the designs at The 5th Season.
Ashton Jewlery
Colorado-based Ashton Burridge carefully and artfully crafts her jewelry designs, inspired by her time spent in Italy. The pieces draw inspiration from art history, with elements of ancient themes and are rich in detail. Ashton Jewelry uses antique techniques like etching to illustrate an authentic expression of creativity. The process is tedious, and the jewelry is made up of repurposed gold and silver and ethically sourced precious gems. Not a gram of material goes un-repurposed at Ashton Jewelry, making for a beautifully ethical brand.
Calista
Calista is a Mexican contemporary jewelry brand by sisters Laura and Regina Hernandez. Their collection is inspired by Egyptian mythology, and titled Bennu, after a mythological bird with a likeness to the mythological phoenix. Each creation at Calista is expertly created in 22K gold plated brass, lapis lazuli, and red coral. This collection will emphasize the idea that “after dark, there will be light with the rising sun.”
Official Sponsors include: AOFM, Waterdrop, InstaSleep Mint Melts, BARCO and Dermalogica.
