The Nolcha Shows teams up with Make-A-Wish®
New York Fashion Week showcase helps wishes come true
The Nolcha Shows, a leading New York Fashion Week event spotlighting independent and emerging designers from around the world, will work with Make-A-Wish® for the second time to grant the wishes of two young girls.
Ciona (16) and Lexi (14) both wish to be fashion models in New York City. Ciona, who lives in East Peoria, IL battles cystic fibrosis, and Lexi, from Redmund, UT, has rhabdomyosarcoma. Together, they will get a life-changing, behind-the-scenes experience at New York Fashion Week.
Lead stylist and social media influencer, Melanie Sutrathada, ( @melaniesutra on Instagram), will dress the girls in runway-ready outfits selected from a number of cutting edge designers featured in the shows, including ACID NYC and Videmus Omnia. They will each get a personal photoshoot from professional fashion photographers and receive a portfolio of their pictures at the end of the day. The girls will also have the opportunity to sit front-row at all of the runway shows during the NYFW event.

The chance to help these girls fulfill a hard-fought wish after their personal health journeys felt tremendously special,” said Sutrathada, “And who doesn’t love the chance to play dress up during fashion week? Yes, please.”

The “Ones To Watch” show at 6pm featured Maltese women’s design duo Charles & Ron, “Made in NYC” outerwear brand Jungwon (which featured androgynous model Rain Dove walking in the show) and boots by Cat Footwear, German womenswear designer Anya Liesnik, sports apparel company Planet Zero Motorsports, and Global Citizen.
