“This is such an absolute honor and I am beyond thrilled and humbled. I know this will be a very memorable experience, and want to thank everyone who has made this possible. This is the beginning of everything, an amazing journey; I can’t wait to see where it ends up.  I am a blessed and very lucky designer, this really is a dream come true.”

Background: FIT, Film Producer, Actress, and Philanthropist

Vision: Utilizing my brand INTREPID by Ao’c to inspire and make a difference in lives like we are doing in Liberia with our “Tunic For Change” campaign. INTREPID changed my life, the least I can do is give back to a world that gave me everything.

Signature Style: Classic with a twist

Influence: KATE MOSS, THE 90’S, HAUTE HIPPIE, ROBERT RODRIGUEZ, NICOLE MILLER, MICHAEL KORS, DVF, Burberry, DIOR

Brand Philosophy: Classically innovative and chic

Making it Happen: Fear was paralyzing me for years, but fear is also what gave me the strength to push through and persevere.  I made a promise to myself that no matter the repercussion of trepidation, I could and would accomplish all that I ever wanted out of life.  “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.” –Eleanor Roosevelt

Celebrity Crush: Joseph Gordon Levitt

What does New York City mean to you? I grew up on Long Island and moved into NYC when I was 17, so I spent some of the greatest days (and nights) of my life there.  I have been inspired by this city more than words can express.  A lot of “firsts” for me took place here; this city molded me into the strong woman I am today.

“To have my scarves showcased at Nolcha Fashion Week NY in the first year of my inception is a dream come true! I can’t wait to be there”.

Background: I am an Emergency Medicine physician with a passion for painting and fashion. I grew up in India and moved to the United States in my early twenties. Settling down, and with my children being somewhat self sufficient, I am following my dream of merging my love for fashion and art. I produced my first set of scarves, featuring my original artwork, (oils, acrylics and mixed media) reproduced digitally onto pure Indian silk. An innovative concept much like a giclee but wearable and luxurious. I am currently supporting a nonprofit against domestic abuse with my latest scarf and hope to involve more in the future and give back to the community and less fortunate.

Vision: My goal is to create an appreciation for my “Art Scarves” and to bring an Indian influence to a classic western statement piece. To push the limits on the square scarf, with the typical patterns while maintaining the classic luxury aspect. I want women to make a fashion statement with my art.

Signature Style: Avant garde, Artsy, luxurious, and classic with a twist.

Influence: My upbringing in India has had a strong influence on me. People and mythology fascinate me and is reflected in all my artwork and in turn, my scarves.

Brand philosophy: The woman who wears my scarf is classy, confident and sophisticated. She has an appreciation for the arts and draws eyes towards her wherever she goes.

Making it happen: After dreaming about the concept for several years I finally took the step this year and made it happen. I am blessed to have a wonderful and supportive family that has allowed me to pursue my passion. It’s a learning process and I learn something new every day, from web design to branding to PR to marketing. I am lucky to have friends and sometimes complete strangers who have been so helpful along the way.

Celebrity crush: I would have loved to meet Audrey Hepburn. She is the epitome of style and would be my dream model!

What does New York City mean to you? There is no place on earth like New York! The city pulses with style, creativity and fashion. The energy and passion that runs through the veins of New York cannot be found in any other fashion capitals of the world. This is where my scarves need to be, in front of an audience that appreciates and accepts something outside the box!

“To showcase at Nolcha Fashion Week: New York is to live the dream allowing our brand to be exposed amongst many and actually seeing our hard work come to life before our very eyes!”

Background: Goudeau grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and has always had and an eye for fashion and art of all types.  In 1999 he instituted his love of drawing and sketching and applied it to his interest in fashion design.  After five years of development, Goudeau formally named his new business endeavor Studio Sixth Sense.  Each one of the founders of Studio Sixth Sense is also from Louisiana and applies their Creole heritage and influence to bring strong diversification to the line.  Studio Sixth Sense has produced premiere fashion shows and participated in Gulf South fashion platforms and has received outstanding reviews.

Vision: As a designer, I want to be humble, focused and customer-driven.  These three principles will help me build rapport in the fashion industry and allow me to stay connected to the customer while supporting the unstoppable change in trend. Focusing totally on the customer allows our brand to supply each woman with quintessential taste and a feeling of beauty and gratification. I want each woman to showcase alluring confidence. Studio Sixth Sense stands for individuality, exclusivity and daringness and allows all women to know we are “A Lifestyle, ready to wear!

Signature Style: My designs are edgy, daring, style savvy and classy.

Influence: I’m influenced by my love for art and fashion mixed with the beauty of a woman’s structure and physique. I study each curve of her body – what can accentuate her shoulders and what can allow her eyes to standout.  I want women to embrace and express themselves through Studio Sixth Sense clothing.

Brand philosophy: Studio Sixth Sense is a brand that brings the runway feeling to the consumer, by being a price savvy option for the everyday woman. As we are blessed with five senses, our company has infused the “Sixth Sense” with our brands namesake that applies the sense of style and uniqueness of each woman that is illustrated in their way of life. Each consumer wearing our brand will be fearless in defining their style and always willing to do the unthinkable with their fashion choices.

Making it happen: I feel the largest challenge in fashion design is making sure our brand is ahead of trend and thinking about style outside of the box.  I also feel that sourcing the right manufacturers for the completion of our concepts is also very important. We had to ensure each piece made for a customer is made with quality and has the integrity of our brands message.

Celebrity crush: Beyonce, Charlize Theron, Kira Knightly, and Scarlett Johansson.

What does New York City mean to you? New York City is the home I never had. I love this city and at times I feel like I was born here in my second life. It has been a dream of mine to have the privilege to showcase in the fashion capital. The opportunity to allow Studio Sixth Sense to showcase in New York is a huge success for the line and our company. It is introducing us to the global world, the upper city community that we have been dying to reach. We are creating “a lifestyle” – one that does not go away overnight and New York is the perfect city to illustrate this journey.
