“I’m ecstatic to have this opportunity from the Nolcha Shows to show my work and I intend to make the best of this chance to make my start in the industry.”
I specialise in research. I have a strong understanding of history and also the current events occurring in the world today. I see this capability as a strength when it comes to designing pieces that are innovative and relevant. I can make connections to the past while still being completely conscious of the present and in this way create a product that is intelligent, beautiful, and relatable to the customer.
I want to relay what’s going on in the world with garments that have a narrative. Because of the sheer universality of clothes, fashion becomes the ideal medium to use to communicate and provide an in depth analysis about the past and present.
Narrative garments based on history with inventive, new silhouettes and intricate storytelling detail work.
My greatest inspiration is history and stories of the human experience.
Telling beautiful stories with garments.
If you could dress any celebrity who would it be and why?
If I could dress anyone it would be Jhansi Ki Rani (The Queen of Jhansi). The Queen of Jhansi epitomized the archetype of the Rebel Warrior Queen when she played her part in the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
