“It is an honor and an amazing opportunity to be included in an awesome platform like Nolcha Fashion Week”
Sharon Itayi Abdul was born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe. From as far back as she can remember, Sharon has nurtured a deep love for fashion, color and prints. At a young age, she leaned to sew, knit and crochet from her mom, now a retired interior decorator, who custom made home furnishings for her clientele for many years.
Sharon had limited time to engage in her true passion for fashion design as she took the traditional route, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, a Master’s in Business Administration, and forging a career in finance. Serendipitously, a few years later while preparing for her traditional wedding ceremony in 2010, she came across a box of African fabrics she had been collecting for years. The spark was reignited and Sharon rediscovered her passion. Since then, she has pursued her passion for fashion design and created a line of scarves like no other.
Sharon desires to awaken intrigue in the modern woman who is curious about culture and the world, and encourage her to live in color effortlessly and celebrate her individuality.
Bold prints, crisp colors and a touch of whimsy.

Each of her designs is a statement affirming “I am bold, I live life in color, and I am not afraid to show it”
SHARON ITAYI approaches design with the philosophy that timeless style can be vibrant.
If you could dress any celebrity who would it be and why?
