Nolcha Fashion Week: New York presented by RUSK co-hosts $10,000 mahna NY Style Competition

NEW YORK, NY, Dec 23rd, 2013 – Nolcha Fashion Week: New York presented by RUSK and in partnership with Fashion Monitor is pleased to announce a partnership with mahna mahna, an international fashion company that specializes in renting high-end clothing and accessories to stylists and fashion editors, to co-host the mahna NY Style Competition.

Continuing into their seventh consecutive year, and held simultaneously with Mercedes-Benz Fashion week, Nolcha is one of New York’s leading platforms for independent fashion designers to showcase their collections to a global audience of press, retailers, stylists and industry influencers.

The mahna NY Style Competition invites fashion industry professionals to compete for the chance to win $10,000 credit towards rentals from the mahna mahna Soho showroom, which features everything from Alexander McQueen to Valentino, hard to find brands such as Comme des Garcons, DressCamp and Atsuko Kudo as well as a vintage collection featuring Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Oscar de la Renta. The prize is to be used towards a professional project; whether to wow the wardrobe of a photo shoot, dress the cast of a television show or film or have your client make a style statement on the red carpet.

Submissions will be accepted through January 31st when the Top Ten finalists will be selected. The public will then have the chance to vote for their favorites from the 31st until the 9th of February. During Nolcha Fashion Week: New York February 2014 mahna mahna will announce the winner at a privately hosted cocktail party. The shortlist and winners will also be exclusively announced in Fashion Monitor’s news online and via its news bulletin that is mailed directly to fashion industry professionals including press, PRs and brands.

To enter, participants simply submit one photograph via Instagram with the hashtag #mahnastyle using the styling theme of Metallics. The judges will be looking for each stylist’s unique take on the Metallics theme and how well they integrate it into their style.
