Nolcha Shows designers Charles & Ron have been invited together with the other 9 laureates of the 2015 Mediterranean Fashion Prize (MFP) to show their creations in the Zone of Laureates on the 1st Floor of the world renowned Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in Paris.
The exhibition is on from 11 April to 6 June 2016 and is an important recognition for the Maltese Designers and for this young competition, which celebrates its 6th anniversary.
The international event in the Parisian department store will put the spotlight on the stylistic identity of the Mediterranean.
An integral part of Charles & Ron’s design ethic is the Maltese culture combined with their vision to inspire their clients to be part of the Charles & Ron Mediterranean lifestyle. The brand strives to design high-end wearable clothing and bags with a distinct Mediterranean flair and a dedication to superior quality.
The Charles & Ron dress featured in the exhibition is from their Spring/Summer 2016 collection which was inspired by the traditional Maltese fishing boat the “Luzzu” and was unveiled on the Nolcha Shows runway in September 2015.
The “Eye of Osiris” is featured on the graphic print design of the dress and is said to protect the fishermen when at sea. The design also features a pattern inspired by the traditional Maltese writing style called; “Tberfil”. This is typically seen on vintage buses, trucks and also on the Maltese fishing boats.
