On February 15th, Nolcha’s “Ones To Watch” runway show will feature Haute Athletics, a New York based brand, which specializes in edgy, athletic fashion that supports active lifestyles and transitions from sport to street.
In lieu of traditional runway models, the Haute Athletics catwalk will feature super athletes walking in the show. Confirmed athletes include: Brianne McLaughlin (2x Olympic Hockey Goalie), Ryan Hughes (celebrity fitness model), Theresa Depasquale (Bikini Boss Chicks), and Patricia Schwab (Puma model).
The brand is co-founded by Margarita Ventura who is a fitness model/instructor and former Alvin Ailey dancer. She launched the line after struggling to find fashion-forward workout gear that matched her busy lifestyle. Of the presentation, Ventura says: “Haute Athletics is showcasing a collection of designers and looks from around the globe with the modern woman and man in mind. Our customers need athletic fashion to take them from their workout to the street so they can really live their life in style..”
Nolcha Fashion Week produces a series of runway shows for global independent designers during New York Fashion Week, and has been named the “hottest incubator for emerging design talent” by Forbes Magazine.
The Haute Athletics runway show will take place at 4:00pm on February 15th at Pier 59 Studios (West 18th Street and the West Side Highway).
