The Nolcha Shows presented by NeoGrid are thrilled to announce ethical fashion labels Cute Like Mad and MINAN WONG will debut their Fall/Winter 2016 collections during the Nolcha Shows “Ones to Watch”; taking place February 15th at ArtBeam.

With a visual focus and a determined fashion sense since youth, Cute Like Mad designer Jeanette Svensk Li has a multifaceted background in technology and in the fashion industry. The brands signature style is relaxed luxury with an injection of rock ‘n’ roll with a vision of creating unique styles that empower the wear with confidence.

Made in NYC from natural and environmentally friendly materials, Cute Like Mad is for the woman who has a rebellious edge. The brand is created for the woman who doesn’t mind standing out in a crowd, opens their own doors, laughs out loud, wears “too tall” heels and then kicks them off and dances barefoot.

Growing up in New York, MINAN WONG designer, Mimi Wong fell in love with Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Valentino at a young age. She didn’t know the name of the industry, but she knew she wanted to be a part of it. Sketching her way to FIT, Mimi designed a jacket made from a recycled IKEA rug, but never imagined it would go anywhere. The design won the UNESCO and Felissimo International Competition and suddenly her designs were being shown at the Louvre in Paris and covered by Women’s Wear Daily and The Daily News. Mimi has been in fashion for over 18 years, working for Donna Karan and Eileen Fisher before launching MINAN WONG.

Mimi Wong shares; “I’m excited to be part of the Nolcha Shows during New York Fashion Week. Nolcha has a reputation of putting on amazing shows and bringing out celebrities, bloggers, and other tastemakers in the world of fashion. I’m honored to have been invited to share the stage with the rest of this year’s independent designers. I cannot wait to see how this opportunity allows me to share my brand and span our philosophy of women’s empowerment through clothing!”.

MINAN WONG creates natural and eco-friendly fibers that transform into clean, vibrant lines structured with feminine details and a sense of purpose in every piece. Items are made using eco-friendly elements like organic cotton, Tencel, recycled wool and recycled PET. All pieces are made in the US for fair wages and support the local economy, so you can look great without feeling guilty.

Nolcha CEO, Kerry Bannigan, comments; “We are dedicated to promoting and growing the Made in USA sustainable fashion movement. This upcoming show will highlight the work of ethical fashion designers that are leading the way for sustainable practices to be the future of fashion.”
